What You’ll Be Doing
This position involves mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of all electrical, mechanical, and structural equipment relative to the operation of the Town’s Water Filtration Facility and Water Pollution Control Facility, and all associated facilities within the Town’s Department of Utilities. Worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold and heat, noise, and vibration; and working in hazardous conditions, such as confined space and high voltage environments, in all types of weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifications
HS/GED; minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, facility maintenance and/or repair work; possession of a valid driver’s license and safe driving record; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B or the ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment; ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment: Confined Space Certification, CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications, and Forklift Certification; knowledge of OSHA and other work place safety programs.

The Town’s Utilities Plant Maintenance Division offers a career development program. The purpose of this program is to recognize and compensate those individuals who have acquired additional or advanced work-related knowledge, skills and abilities during their career with the Town’s Utilities Department. This program provides a career development plan based on an employee’s performance, training and length of service.
