Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for performing basic preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools, and assists other members of the Maintenance Department in various machine/building repairs.

Perform required functions of plant maintenance, primarily responsible for the production equipment and preventive and predictive maintenance. Maintain,
troubleshoot, repair, and improve the processes related to the mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and the facilities of the production plant.

Responsibilities:

Performs regular, preventative maintenance on all machinery, equipment, tools and building.
Assists in repair of woodworking machinery, infeed/out-feed systems, hand tools and forklifts in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals and manufacturer specifications.
Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled.
Maintains records of repair and maintenance activities.
Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures.
Maintains a clean and organized work area
Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
Performs other duties as required
Completes work orders, records, logs and other written or computer-based documents per established procedures.
Operates material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment.
Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment (e.g., pneumatic systems, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, electronic and electrical equipment, etc.) per safety and quality procedures.
Troubleshoots and repairs complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment, networks, PC logic controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and external Input/output (I/O) devices where the repair is not immediately visible or obvious.
Assists in the development of specific technical and training documentation; assists in the development of a Technical Support/Troubleshooting.
Provides resolutions to mechanical, technical/controls issues; documents all information and utilize resources in other departments (when necessary) to expedite the resolution of issues.
Participates in cleaning equipment, systems and parts cage as needed.
Completes appropriate paperwork in a timely manner.
Adheres to all department and company standards, operating procedures and safety requirements while contributing to improvement.
May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Works under immediate supervision; relies on specific direction and instructions.

Hours: 2nd Shift (3pm – 11pm) and overtime as needed
