As an Electrician, you will perform all duties incidental to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and facilities at a natural gas compressor station and related facilities. This includes wiring, lighting fixtures, explosion proof wiring, electrical equipment and control, transformers, generators (AC & DC), manual and/or automatic motors and motor pumps, initially you will be working with equipment energized to 480 Volts and ultimately working with equipment energized to 13,800 Volts.

• Perform all the duties necessary to install, maintain, and repair switchboard equipment used in generating electrical energy for corporate use, including meters, voltage regulators, exciters, and switch gear equipment.
• Phase out generators, check and connect synchronizing lights, and adjust exciter ceiling for total load of generators.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and facilities used in corporate operations, including house and office wiring and lighting fixtures, explosion proof wiring (Class I, Group D), conforming to underwriter’s electrical code.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical controls, generators (AC and DC), motors and motor pumps, manual and/or automatic, magnetic and/or reduced voltage starters and automatic devices.
• Repair and test all electric welding machines and their controls.
• Connect all types of motors, coils, etc., for all corporate equipment.
• Make connection diagrams for two (2) speed and dual voltage application.
• Make transformer connections for lighting and power installations.
• Read electrical diagrams and drawings necessary to perform assignments.
• Repair and test all types of magnetos for compressor station engines and all portable equipment.
• Prepare records and reports as required.
• Make repairs to equipment used in the performance of assigned duties, keeping the equipment in safe and proper working condition.
• May direct other employees in the performance of assigned duties.
• May perform other duties as required in a higher or lower classification.
• Maintain normal inventories of commonly used electrical fittings, fixtures, and wire. Specify and order, as necessary, to maintain normal levels.
A minimum of one year industrial in an educational setting or by hand on work experience. NOTE: Progress through the various levels of this job requires one (1) year in each successive level, completing the prescribed training and successfully passing the appropriate tests.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Must be able to climb ladders and work from heights.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Additional Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
• Follow mandatory safety rules and use personal protective equipment and maintain equipment in safe and proper working order
• Experience installing, maintain and repairing electrical equipment and facilities.
• Experience reading electrical diagrams and drawings.
• Experience operating personal computer applications.
• Ability to analyze problems, collect accurate data and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to work independently or as a team member.
High Diploma or GED
Other Work Conditions:
Minimal overnight travel. Overtime and callouts may be required. This position is subjected to adverse weather and environmental conditions such as proximity of moving parts, exposure to high noise levels, solvents, lubricants, and other chemicals. May by assigned other non-skilled and semi-skilled duties.
