Job Description:
Specialty Granules LLC (SGI) is seeking an experienced Electrical & Controls Technician II at their Plant in Blue Ridge Summit, PA. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is technically curious and demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.

Reporting to the Electrician Supervisor, the Electrical & Controls Technician II works within the Maintenance Department, partners closely with Operations to minimize Plant downtime.
Job duties include but are not limited to:

Troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, installation, and demolition of the plant’s electrical equipment and machinery, including motors, panels, generating equipment, lighting circuits, communication systems, etc.

Maintain the facility in an electrically safe condition.

Respond to process upsets with a sense of urgency.

Comply with regulatory governing bodies with regard to electrical installations, mining safety, and occupational health; and with Company safe practices and established procedures.

Maybe required to perform other miscellaneous assignments as directed.

Installation of new improvement projects throughout the plant.
The Electrician will be required to work various shifts and weekends as assigned.
Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma coupled with two or more years of demonstrated experience in a continuous process atmosphere. A technical certificate or advanced degree is preferred but not required.

Must have basic understanding of diagnosing and troubleshooting power and electrical controls using A.C. and D.C. voltages ranging from 6V to 480V.

Must have a basic understanding of electrical theory and understanding of National electrical code.

Must have a basic understanding of methods and procedures to use for installation, maintenance and repair jobs on electrical and electronic equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years or more electrical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment and process monitoring is preferred.

Prior experience with single and 3 phase AC motor controls in an industrial environment, including MCCs, soft starters and VFDs.

Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley controllers, I/O modules and programming software desired.
